Ukraine's army has been ranked 18th in the world's most powerful armies, according to the Global Firepower international company.

It is known that until 2022, the leaders of many countries considered Ukraine to be not the most capable country. However, more than two years have passed since the beginning of the full-scale war, and Ukrainians continue to put up a strong resistance to the enemy, impressing the world.

This is indeed a successful indicator, given that Ukraine was ranked among the 20 most powerful armies in the world in 2023, taking 18th place, while russia was ranked second in last year's ranking.

How was the Global Firepower 2024 ranking of the world's most powerful armies compiled?

The list, which is compiled annually, takes into account 60 different categories, such as the number of military units, financial status, logistical capabilities, and geographic location.

Ukraine is ranked 18th among 145 countries in this rating.

Among Ukraine's "neighbors" in this list are the armies of Israel (17th place) and Germany (19th place). Ukraine's power index was 0.2598, with a lower index considered better. The ideal index is 0.0000.

"Ukraine's military power is strengthened by the financial and material support of Western allies, in particular the United States. February 2024 marks two bloody years since the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian war," the authors emphasize in the Ukraine review.
