On September 3, 2024, Ukrzaliznytsia, together with the LUN City platform, presented an interactive map of barrier-free stations in Ukraine. According to the carrier, this project was created to facilitate travel for people with disabilities and help them better plan their routes. In addition, the project aims to raise awareness of the importance of barrier-free travel and help ensure equal opportunities for all citizens.

See our previous article for more information on how the ticketing service for the military works.

What does the barrier-free map offer?

Currently, the map provides information on the accessibility of 12 train stations in different cities of Ukraine, and the list of cities and train stations will be expanded later.

The data covers the availability of ramps, door widths, tactile tiles, parking spaces for people with disabilities, children's areas, boarding and alighting aids, and other important parameters. This allows passengers with disabilities to plan their trip carefully, taking into account all aspects of accessibility.

A special feature of the map is the ability to view 3D models of stations, which helps users better navigate the terrain and plan routes. This is very useful for determining the most convenient way to platforms or ticket offices that have lowered windows for ticketing.

Which stations are on the barrier-free map?

As of September 2024, the map covers stations in the following cities: Kyiv, Lviv, Uzhhorod, Vinnytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Rivne, Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, and Dnipro.

How to use the map?

The map can be viewed on the official website of LUN Misto or through the Ukrzaliznytsia app for smartphones (Android and iOS). To do this, in the application, go to the “Profile” section and select “Map ‘City without Borders’: Stations of Ukraine”. There you can easily find the desired station and get all the necessary information.

We remind you! Bus routes can now be tracked through the state portal. Read how to do this and what information will be available there in our previous article.
