Rental assistance in Poland for Ukrainian refugees: where to apply and how to get it
There is a rental assistance programme for Ukrainian refugees in Poland. Find out what the conditions are and for whom it is available
Poland has launched a programme to support Ukrainian refugees facing difficulties in renting accommodation. Here's how to become a participant in the programme.
What is the essence of the programme?
Step Home (KDD) is a programme to support people fleeing the war in Ukraine who have difficulty renting accommodation in Poland despite their financial means, especially those at risk of social exclusion. The programme offers services aimed at increasing the availability of housing and facilitating the rental process.

How to participate in the programme?
To participate in the programme, several conditions must be met:
- crossing the border after 24 February 2022 (with supporting documents);
- residence in Poland at the time of application;
- willingness to enter into a lease agreement for a period of 12 months or more;
- minimum household income (from PLN 3000 to 4500 depending on the voivodeship);
- belonging to the category of persons at risk of losing their housing.
In addition, participants can receive additional funding for a deposit and partial compensation of rent.
The Foundation also assists with adaptation by covering the costs of language courses, vocational training or childcare.
The programme aims to provide Ukrainians with stability and access to housing in a new country.
