Crossing the border on 31 December: where are the longest queues and how to check them?

According to the State Border Guard Service, the number of border crossings before the winter holidays has broken all records. Find out all about the statistics, the workload at the checkpoints, the longest queues and how to check them
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine informs that the number of border crossings has increased significantly before the winter holidays and is breaking all records. However, as of 9:30 am, according to the official SBGS Telegram channel, there are no queues at the border. If you are planning to cross the border today, we recommend that you read the information gathered in this article.

At which checkpoints can there be queues?
The largest number of border crossings over the past week was recorded with the Republic of Poland. Statistics are provided with reference to the official Telegram channel of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine as of 09:30 on 31.12.2024.
The Republic of Poland
There are no queues at the checkpoints.
The Shehyni checkpoint is usually the busiest. It is also the only checkpoint where pedestrians are allowed to cross in both directions.
Please note! At the Yahodyn checkpoint, the passage of cars is temporarily restricted.

Slovak Republic
There are no queues at the checkpoints.
The busiest checkpoints are usually Uzhhorod and Maly Berezny. The latter allows pedestrians to cross in both directions.
Please note! The checkpoint ‘Mali Selmentsi’ is open from 9:00 to 21:00.

Hungary
There are no queues at the checkpoints.
The busiest checkpoint is usually Tisa.
Please note! The checkpoints ‘Dzvinkove’ and ‘Kosyno’ are open from 8:00 to 20:00.

Please note! Starting from 2 December 2024, new rules for truck traffic on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border will be in force.

Romania
There are no queues at the border crossing points with Romania.
Please note! Additional information:
- Dyakove checkpoint does not allow pedestrians to cross;
- The checkpoints ‘Krasnoyilsk’ and ‘Dyakivtsi’ are open around the clock and allow pedestrians to cross in both directions;
- only trucks up to 3.5 tonnes can pass through the Krasnoyilsk checkpoint.

Republic of Moldova
There are no queues at the checkpoints.
The Mamalyga checkpoint is usually the busiest.

Attention: The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine recommends choosing less busy checkpoints for crossing the border!
