Do you dream of feeling the true spirit of the Carpathians and immersing yourself in authentic Hutsul culture? An exciting trip filled with winter entertainment, tasting of traditional dishes and drinks, trembita playing and Hutsul dancing masterclasses awaits you. Find out more about the incredible winter weekend in the heart of Hutsul region
The Carpathian Mountains have always attracted with their majesty and unique beauty, but the true soul of these places can only be felt by immersing yourself in the authentic Hutsul culture.
It was here, among the snow-capped peaks and ancient traditions, that the special culture of the Hutsuls was born, and they have preserved their customs to this day.
A three-day trip to the Carpathians will give you an unforgettable experience of winter entertainment at the largest ski resort in Ukraine, acquaintance with local traditions and delicacies, and immersion in the authentic Hutsul flavour.
We invite you to spend an unforgettable weekend in the Carpathians with Visit Ukraine.
Yaremche and Bukovel: from the waterfall to the ski slopes
The first day of your trip will start with a visit to the mighty Probiy waterfall in Yaremche. This natural phenomenon is especially impressive in winter, when its waters are frozen with ice, forming fantastic ice sculptures. After that, the main winter adventure awaits you - a holiday at the legendary Bukovel resort. Here, everyone will find something to their liking: experienced skiers will conquer the slopes, beginners will be able to take a lesson from professional instructors, and those who do not ski will enjoy panoramic views from the lift and cosy mountain restaurants.

Verkhovyna: a day of authentic traditions and flavours
The second day is a real immersion in the Hutsul world, which begins with a visit to the unique Grandfather's Pharmacy. Here you will not only learn about the healing properties of Carpathian herbs, but also taste three types of special tinctures, try local delicacies and take bright photos in a specially equipped photo zone.
Next, you will go to the heart of the Hutsul region - the town of Verkhovyna, where you will have a fascinating tour of the Trembitard's Museum. Here, the history of the Hutsul people comes to life - from its origins to the present day. You will get to know the traditional crafts, lifestyle and festive costumes of the highlanders, and the highlight will be a masterclass in playing authentic musical instruments - trembita, drymba and cymbals. A special part of the programme will be Hutsul dancing lessons, during which you will feel the true Carpathian drive.
After a rich cultural programme, you will enjoy a real Hutsul lunch: fragrant mushroom soup, traditional bacon, Carpathian cheese, tender dumplings and the famous banosh with brynza, served with fragrant herbal tea.
The afternoon will bring new discoveries at the Corkscrew Museum, which has a unique collection of 400 different corkscrews. Here you will not only learn the history of this interesting utensil, but also taste homemade young wine.
A real gastronomic adventure will be a visit to the Brynza Factory, where you will find a variety of local cheeses: from traditional Hutsul brynza to aged Cacciotta and smoked cheese, complemented by mountain lard, honey and local drinks.
The day will culminate in a theatrical Hutsul wedding, where you will not just watch but become a direct participant in this colourful event full of authentic rituals and traditions.
Polonyna Pertsi: the final chords of the Hutsul symphony
The final day will give you an unforgettable excursion to Polonyna Pertsi, a unique open-air park-museum. Here you will see a real Carpathian smithy, try on authentic Hutsul clothes and visit the mysterious Molfar's House.
On this trip, every moment is filled with discoveries, and every day gives you new impressions of the unique culture of the highlanders, their traditions and the unique nature of the Carpathians.
