Controlling migration and ending the war as soon as possible. What important statements has the new US President Trump already made?

Trump has officially taken office as President of the United States and has already made some high-profile statements related to both domestic and foreign policy. What did the new US leader say and did he touch on Ukraine?
Donald Trump has officially taken office as President of the United States, becoming the 47th head of state in the country's history. On the day of his inauguration, 20 January, Trump made a number of harsh statements about the war in Ukraine and migration policy. We will tell you what exactly the politician said below.
State of emergency in the US South
Trump said that he wanted to protect law-abiding Americans, stop the flow of illegal immigrants from ‘various psychiatric hospitals and prisons’ around the world and secure the borders. He also wants to return ‘millions of criminals’ to the countries they came from.
‘We will reinstate our ‘Stay in Mexico’ policy. I will send our military to the southern border to stop this invasion. Under the decrees I will sign today, we will recognise the cartels as international terrorist organisations. And we will use the 1798 law to stop international criminals from operating in the United States and ravaging our cities,’ he said.
Shortly after the announcement, the media reported that the US military had closed the border crossings with Mexico, preventing migrants from entering the country.
Obtaining US citizenship by birthright
Trump has instructed government agencies to no longer issue US citizenship documents to children born in the US to parents who do not have legal status.
The birthright executive order is part of a series of Trump's border and immigration-related directives, including stepping up deportations and ending refugee resettlement.

On putin and ending the war
First of all, Trump turned to the russian dictator, promising him ‘problems’ if he refuses to strike a deal to end the war in Ukraine.
Speaking about the problems russia is facing in the wake of the war in Ukraine, Donald Trump pointed to the difficult economic situation, including high inflation. He reiterated that he was preparing to hold a personal meeting with the russian leader to discuss options for ending the war in Ukraine.
At the same time, Trump said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had also told him during a personal meeting that he wanted a deal to end the war. ‘Zelenskyy wants to make a deal,’ the US president stated.
As Zelenskyy himself later stated, Trump wants to end russia's war against Ukraine this year. However, this needs to be done not only quickly, but also fairly and reliably for Ukraine.
Trump on the death toll from the war in Ukraine
The US President said that about a million russian and 700,000 Ukrainian soldiers had been killed in the war.
‘We have figures that almost a million russian soldiers were killed. About 700,000 Ukrainian soldiers were killed. russia has more, they have lost more soldiers, but this is no way to run a country,’ he said.
We remind you! The war in Ukraine remains one of the most debated topics, and forecasts for its end vary considerably. Experts express their opinions on the possibility of the war ending in 2025.
