A postponement of conscription during mobilization will be granted to scientific-pedagogical and pedagogical workers, regardless of whether they have a scientific title or a scientific degree. The Verkhovna Rada adopted the corresponding draft law, according to head of the "Servant of the People" party, Olena Shulyak.
In accordance with draft law No. 7352, teaching staff of institutions of higher and professional pre-higher education will have the right to deferment. In order to receive a deferment from the draft, they must be employed at the main place of work for at least 0.75 rates.
"Today the state is in war. But the time of the victory will come and we will calmly continue rebuilding Ukraine. This applies not only to the construction of infrastructure and housing. This applies to our children and young people, who will need to be given professional, high-quality education. And also our scientists, who will have to continue to develop Ukrainian science. That is why our scientists and teachers should continue their work at the workplace now and do it after the victory," Shulyak commented on this decision.
Today, the Verkhovna Rada also voted for the expansion of the list of persons who are not subject to conscription during mobilization. According to the draft law, employees of the military administration, police, and other services will not be subject to conscription.
