The housing program for Ukrainians in Georgia is discontinued, but financial assistance will be provided
The Tbilisi City Hall reports that the housing program for citizens of Ukraine will be terminated as of July 31. But Ukrainians will be able to receive financial assistance from July 15.
From the first days of the full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war, a housing program for Ukrainian citizens who came to Georgia was active in Tbilisi. Ukrainian refugees were accommodated in various hotels with three meals a day. 5,100 Ukrainian refugees have already been accepted in Tbilisi, of which more than 2,300 are currently living in 40 hotels in the capital. Approximately 14 million GEL was spent on this from the city budget. But from July 31, this program will be discontinued.
This decision was made due to the fact that the Government of Georgia adopted Resolution No. 1254 dated July 13, 2022. According to it, citizens of Ukraine who entered Georgia in connection with hostilities in Ukraine will receive financial assistance in the amount of 300 GEL per family and 45 GEL per person. In addition, international organizations (World Vision and UNHCR) are considering the possibility of providing an aid package in the amount of 235 GEL per person.

The simultaneous stay of visitors in the hotel lobby not more than one person per 10 square meters of serviceable area is allowed.
Persons can visit hotels and stay there (outside hotel room) only if they wear respirator or face mask (including homemade mask), so that the nose and mouth are covered.
Hotel guests are obliged to keep the 1.5 meters distance.
Online check-in making in advance is recommended to avoid queues at check-in to hotel.
Meals in hotels are provided through meals delivery service to rooms upon prior order or at hotel restaurants situated inside or in open areas, provided the distance of at least 1.5 meters between seats at adjacent tables.
Not more than 4 clients are allowed to stay at the table (excluding children under 14 years old). Unless these tables are separated by a special partition;
Self-serve is not allowed.
