Work visa
Business visa for employment purposes (NM1)
Issued to persons who, by the nature of their activities, stay in the country for one year without necessarily traveling abroad. It is usually issued to persons who fulfill contracts for a certain period of time in public or private companies established in the Dominican Republic and can be extended for the same period of time, provided that the contract remains in force in each case.
Required documents:
1. A completed and signed visa application form, which can be downloaded HERE or obtained at the consulate (everything indicated in the application form must be confirmed by documents).
2. A visa application letter signed by the applicant (not notarized) addressed to the consul, which must contain the name, citizenship, place of residence of the applicant, type of activity, financial capabilities and purpose of the trip to the country.
3. A passport-size photo on a white background.
4. The original passport and a copy of a civilian passport with a validity period of at least 6 months.
5. The original birth certificate, if it is in a language other than Spanish, it must be translated by a court translator and duly apostilled.
6. A letter from your place of employment (indicating the date you joined the company, the position you hold in the company and your salary).
7. A certificate of no criminal record (for adults only) issued by the last country where you resided, duly apostilled.
8. An offer of employment registered with the Ministry of Labor, indicating the position you will hold, basic salary and additional benefits.
9. A certificate from the Ministry of Labor stating that the company is registered in the Integrated Labor Registration System (SIRLA) and that it complies with the provisions of Article 135 of the Dominican Labor Code on the nationalization of work (the date of issue of the certificate is not more than 3 months ago).

11. A letter of guarantee, duly notarized and legalized by the Attorney General's Office of the Dominican Republic, must contain what is described in the following paragraph:
- Warranty Clause: "I guarantee that (name, nationality and passport) will not remain in the Dominican Republic longer than the time granted by the General Directorate of Migration, nor will I request a residence permit or change of migration status from the Dominican Republic, devoting myself exclusively to the activities for which the visa was granted. "I assume moral and economic responsibility for my return from my country of origin, undertaking to pay in favor of the Dominican State any costs that the said person may incur during his/her stay in the country, or that may result from his/her repatriation or deportation from the country."
12. Documents confirming the economic solvency of the Guarantor: bank letter(s) from its savings account; current account or bank certificates.
13. Supporting documents, evidence confirming your employment qualifications, including a resume or curriculum vitae, diplomas of higher education (these documents do not need to be apostilled, legalized or translated).

Single and multiple entry business visas
Requirements for single and multiple entry business visas
1. Completed and properly typed or legibly printed visa application form. You can download it here.
2. One (1) 4 X 5 cm photo, frontal, on a white background.
3. Original passport with a validity period of at least six (6) months.
4. Medical certificate stating that the applicant does not have any infectious or contagious diseases.
5. Copies of valid or expired Dominican visas and visas from other countries.
6. A legible photocopy of the national identity card of the country of citizenship and a legible photocopy of the residence permit if the applicant resides in another country.
7. A certificate of no criminal record (not required for minors) issued within 12 months of the date of application by the competent authority (federal authority in case of federal states) of the countries in which you have resided for the last 5 years, duly legalized or apostilled, as the case may be.
8. A visa letter (not notarized) addressed to the appropriate consular office, signed by the company or institution to which the beneficiary belongs, stating the beneficiary's name, nationality, place of residence and activities, economic means at his/her disposal, and the purpose of the trip to the Dominican Republic. This document must be submitted by the company or institution to which the beneficiary belongs, on a stamped and stamped sheet.
9. Certificate from the place of work indicating the date of employment, the position held by the person, and the amount of salary.
- The cost of a single-entry business visa (NS): 150 USD
- The cost of a multiple-entry business visa (NM): 200 USD
10. Guarantor in the DR, but must be submitted together with all the documents of the visa applicant:
- A letter of guarantee duly notarized and legalized at the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic with the following paragraph: "I guarantee that (name, nationality and passport) will not remain in the Dominican Republic longer than the time granted by the General Directorate of Migration, nor will I request a residence permit or change of migration status from the Dominican Republic, devoting myself exclusively to the activities for which the visa was granted. 11. Documents that demonstrate economic solvency: bank statement(s) from your savings account, passport; current account(s) or bank certificate(s); certificate of employment indicating the date of your employment, the position you hold in the company, your salary; documents of ownership of your home, business, farm or land; or a certificate of registration of your vehicle(s), if you own it.

IMPORTANT!
- Visa applications are personal.
- Incomplete visa applications will not be accepted.
- The interested person must make a payment when submitting the visa application.
- The required payment is NOT refundable once deposited.
- Visa applications are processed within 15 business days.
- After the visa is approved, the applicant will be notified of the need to make an appointment at the consular section for visa stamping, for which he/she must have the original passport.
- If the visa is denied, the applicant will be notified.
- Visas are approved or denied at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you do NOT purchase non-refundable airline tickets or plan any other travel until you have received your visa.
