📣 Ukrainians in Lithuania need to replace their residence permits
Ukrainian citizens currently residing in Lithuania need to replace their residence permits by the end of the year. Such changes are necessary due to the extension of the temporary protection period. The application for replacement of the residence permit must be submitted four months before the expiration of the document.

If Ukrainians arrive in Lithuania after the announcement of the extension, they will immediately be issued temporary residence permits valid until March 2026. Such refugees will not need to do anything until the end of the year.

👉 How to replace a residence permit
An application for replacement of this document can be submitted four months before the expiration of the current document. Consideration of an application in the general procedure takes up to two months, and in an urgent procedure - up to one month.
What you need to apply:
- Log in to your MIGRIS account.
- Indicate your citizenship and select the section “I am a person who left Ukraine due to military operations” and then “Apply for a change of residence permit”.
- Provide the required information, select the customer service department, date and time of the visit.
- Come in person at the specified time.
👉 What documents are required
You need a valid travel document (passport). If you do not have it, you must attach an identity document, such as an expired passport or ID card. If a person has received a new passport of a citizen of Ukraine or a new identity card, they must be attached to the application.
The application for a minor child (under 16 years of age) is filled out by one of the parents, guardian or legal representative. The application must contain the data of the person filling out the form, including name, surname and date of birth.
After submitting the application and booking the visit, a new digital document will be sent to your MIGRIS account. You can then print it out or save it in PDF format, for example, on your smartphone.
