Studying in Slovenia for Ukrainians

You need a national visa to enter and stay in Slovenia for study purposes. 

Documents required to obtain a national visa for Slovenia

• Application form
• One photo
• A passport valid for at least three months after leaving the Schengen area. In addition, the passport must be issued within the last 10 years and contain at least two free "visa pages"
• National identity card and residence permit/visa (if the country of residence and citizenship are different)
• Medical insurance. The insurance must cover the entire duration of the visa and all planned days of stay in the country. The insurance must cover at least 30,000 euros.
• Certificate of enrollment from the educational institution
• Proof of residence

Where to apply for a Slovenian national visa?

You apply for a Slovenian national visa at Slovenian visa centers, embassies or consulates, depending on which ones accept visa applications in your country of residence. If there is no such center in your country, you need to apply to the nearest embassy or consulate at your place of residence.

You can obtain a Slovenian student visa by following these steps:

1. Apply for a study program in Slovenia. To be eligible for a student visa, you must first apply for a study program in Slovenia and be accepted. You will not receive a student visa without an acceptance letter. 

2. Make an appointment at the nearest embassy or consulate. Once you have received confirmation of your study program, you need to find the nearest embassy or consulate and make an appointment to submit your application. 

3. Gather the necessary documents. You must submit several required documents related to your visa application; the embassy will provide you with a complete list. 

4. Submit your application. After preparing your documents, you can submit your application on the day of your scheduled visit to the embassy or consulate. At this stage, you may be invited to an interview at the embassy to discuss your plans to study in Slovenia. 

5. Wait for the answer. At the final stage, you have to wait for the embassy to process your application and issue you a visa.
