Rules of entry to Thailand for Ukrainians
Visa to Thailand for Ukrainians: when is it required and how to obtain it?
A tourist visa to Thailand for Ukrainians is only required if you plan to stay in the country for more than 60 days.
If you are a citizen of Ukraine and plan to stay in Thailand for more than 60 days, you must obtain a tourist visa to Thailand in advance. As a tourist, you have two options to choose from: a single-entry tourist visa or a multiple-entry tourist visa. You can obtain it by applying online (e-visa) or at the Thai embassy/consulate.
Types of tourist visas to Thailand:
- Single-entry visa, valid for three months. Once you leave the country, you cannot re-enter, even if you have not used up all your days.
- Multiple-entry visa, valid for six months, allowing the holder to leave and re-enter the country several times during the visa's validity period.
What is an electronic visa to Thailand?
An electronic visa gives you access to the two visas mentioned above (single-entry and multiple-entry visas). It is an online platform that allows people to apply for, monitor, and pay for their visas, so they do not need to visit the Thai embassy or consulate. Currently, this is the easiest way to obtain a visa and organize your vacation in Thailand.
Ukrainian citizens can apply for an electronic visa on the website.
How much does an e-visa cost?
An e-visa to Thailand costs $82 (or equivalent). Payment is made through the secure e-Visa web portal when submitting the application. The fee is non-refundable.

If you do not have access to the online visa application process, you can contact your local Thai embassy and make an appointment. The nearest Thai embassy is in Warsaw (Poland).
Imigration requirements are subject to change without notice, and many embassies do not allow visits without an appointment, so it is best to contact the embassy when you are ready to apply. They will confirm the cost and the required documents.
⚠️ Currently, questions are more frequently asked of tourists who plan to stay in Thailand for a long time without a clear explanation of their purpose.
In practice, attention is paid to the correspondence of the visa type to the actual plans for the stay, as well as to the history of previous entries. An incorrectly chosen visa type can lead to problems when extending your stay or re-entering the country.

☝🏻 Important!

How much does a tourist visa to Thailand cost?
The cost of a Thai tourist visa ranges from $30 to $50 for a single-entry visa and approximately $150-250 for a multiple-entry visa.
A Thai tourist visa is issued for the following periods:
- Single-entry Thai tourist visa: valid for three months and one entry. You can stay in Thailand for up to sixty days within three months. If you leave the country, you will not be able to re-enter, even if you have not spent the maximum number of days.

Visa for entry into Thailand (DTV)
DTV is a multiple-entry visa valid for five years. Eligible applicants receive 180 days upon entry, which they can extend for another 180 days for a fee of 10,000 Thai baht once a year. After the 180-day period expires, they must leave and re-enter the country to receive another 180 days.
Although the DTV is commonly associated with digital nomads, remote workers, and freelancers who work for companies or clients outside of Thailand, it is also available to those who participate in Thailand's “soft power” activities.
These include:
- Medical treatment
- Thai cuisine
- Muay Thai
- Sports training
- Music festivals
- Seminars
The Thai DTV visa allows family members to join the primary DTV holder. There is no limit to the number of family members you can bring to Thailand, but they must be either your spouse or a dependent child under the age of 20. Each family member must submit a separate application and pay a separate visa fee.
You can apply at the embassy or consulate of the Kingdom of Thailand or through the Thai e-visa.

What to do if your foreign passport is about to expire
As of October 29, 2025, Ukraine has abolished the military rule that allowed foreign passports to be extended and information about children to be added to them. Now, only valid biometric passports are accepted for travel abroad.
Therefore, if your document has been “extended” or information about children has been added to it, you need to apply for a new biometric passport.
Where can you apply for a new passport?
- In Ukraine — at the offices of the State Migration Service, CNAAs, or branches of the State Enterprise “Document”.
- Abroad — at embassies or consulates of Ukraine, as well as at branches of the State Enterprise “Document”, if they operate in your country.
If you are abroad and have an “extended” passport
If the border service of another country does not allow you to leave or does not accept the document when entering Ukraine, contact the nearest embassy or consulate of Ukraine.
There you can obtain an identity card for return to Ukraine (the so-called “white passport”). It is issued on the day of application — free of charge for children under 16 and for a consular fee for adults.
