In today's world, knowledge of English is an essential skill that opens the door to high-paying jobs, seamless communication while traveling, and watching your favorite movies in the original voice acting. The online course platform "Prometheus" has created six free English courses for Ukrainians with different levels of language proficiency.
What do you know about Prometheus English courses?
Each course is designed to meet the needs of students, based on their level of knowledge and the need to master specific vocabulary.
After registering, each student independently determines the schedule and intensity of their studies. We recommend that you pay attention to the description of each course, where the platform's specialists have indicated the most effective frequency of classes.
English from scratch
For those who have a burning desire to learn the basics of English, the course "English for Beginners. Elementary level (A1-A2)". The course consists of 25 lessons and will help participants learn 750 new words.
English for business communication
"Prometheus" has created two specialized courses for those who need a foreign language in a business environment.
In the "Business English" course, students will learn key vocabulary, develop practical knowledge of grammar application, and receive tips on how to further improve their skills.
"English for Career growth" is another course designed to help you achieve your career goals. The advantage of the course is that it was developed by the University of Pennsylvania with the support of the State Bureau of the U.S. Department of Education and Cultural Affairs. Students of the course will learn how to create a resume and cover letter and successfully pass an interview in English.
Professional English
Three more courses are dedicated to specific professional vocabulary. "The English for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)" course will fill your vocabulary with scientific terms. Students will easily master materials designed for non-native English speakers.
The course "English for Journalists" is recommended for those who are building a career in journalism. The course content covers the history of print and digital media, choosing the right words for journalistic materials, analyzing television broadcasting and other topics.
Not only professionals, but every citizen needs to have media literacy skills. That's why the "English for Media Literacy" course is particularly relevant in times of active information wars, a lot of fake news and false information.
The last section of the course involves creating a project for social media, so each student will be able to demonstrate the improvement of their own media literacy.
It is emphasized that the courses are free of charge. All you need to study is access to the Internet to watch video lectures.
At the end of the course, you will have to pass an exam and receive a certificate of completion signed by the teacher.
Classes will be held in the format of video lectures, interesting tasks, and forums.
As a reminder, in 2022, the Ukrainian language became a trend in everyday life. The Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) conducted a survey and found that Ukrainians are more likely to speak their native language at home, at work, at school, or when searching for information on the Internet.
