This month, those traveling to Europe should check the status of their flights before departure, especially those planning to travel to France and Spain. Find out more about where there is a risk of strike-related flight cancellations in October
Travelers from all over Europe are advised to check the status of their flights before traveling, especially those heading to France and Spain, due to the possibility of flight cancellations due to strikes.
Here's a look at where flights are expected to be canceled in October.
Autumn strikes at European airports: what is known
Flights to and from Spain could be severely affected if the security strike continues, which could last until 2024, SchengenVisaInfo.com reports.
Cancellation of flights in France
The civil aviation government warns that flights at Paris and Marseille airports will be canceled on Friday, October 13, due to union demands for higher wages. Almost 40% of flights at Orly Airport in Paris and 25% of flights at Marseille Provence Airport will not be operated. Paris Beauvais Airport will also cancel 15% of flights.
Travelers should keep in mind that short flights may be more affected than long flights, and anyone with bookings between October 12 and 14 should regularly check their flight status before departure.
It is not only air travel that may fall victim to strikes in October, as railways and subways may also experience cancellations due to strike support actions.
In particular, Paris Metro workers may also go on strike, which will last until October 28, ending the Rugby World Cup. Station workers will protest against the lack of additional payments provided to train drivers during the Rugby World Cup.
Members of the FO-RATP trade union, which represents public transport workers in Paris, have expressed their readiness to take to the streets over the issue. Negotiations are ongoing.

In particular, employees of the Ilunion Seguridad union are planning to strike from October 6 to 15, then take a two-day break and go on strike again on October 17, and repeat the action from October 20 to 22. In addition, strikes are also planned for November, December and January.
In addition, in November, the strike will last from 1 to 5, 10-12, 14, 17-19, 21, 24-26 and 28. In December, the strike is scheduled for December 1-10, 12, 15-17 and 19.
