The number of Ukrainians finding work in Latvia continues to grow. This is reported by lasi.lv.
According to the Main Department of Statistics, at the beginning of this year, the number of employed Ukrainian citizens in the country amounted to 8700 people.

What do Ukrainian refugees do in Latvia: the main areas of work
According to statistics, at the beginning of 2024, the number of Ukrainians who found jobs in Latvia increased by about 1000 people compared to the previous year.
The main sectors where Ukrainians are more likely to be found include
- industry (22.8%);
- hotels and catering (13.3%);
- trade, repair of cars and motorcycles (13%);
- financial, insurance, scientific, administrative and real estate services (11.1%)
- construction (9%).

In particular, a significant share of Ukrainian workers (38.7%) are engaged in low-skilled jobs, such as cleaning offices, hotels, kitchen work, and loading.
Also, a large number of Ukrainians work in positions requiring certain qualifications, including skilled workers and craftsmen (16.1%), service and trade workers (14.8%), senior professionals (12.7%), and managers (0.9%).
It is reported that in January, more than 32 thousand Ukrainian citizens were registered in Latvian municipalities.
In addition, as of January 1, 2024, 4,000 Ukrainian citizens with temporary protection status were studying in educational institutions in Latvia.
