Ukrainians living abroad will soon be able to take advantage of a new opportunity - cheaper delivery of passports by post.

This became possible thanks to a memorandum of cooperation signed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the national postal operator Ukrposhta.

Delivery of passports abroad will become much cheaper: details

According to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the memorandum was signed on August 21, 2024, in the presence of Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba. The document was signed by State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Oleksandr Bankov and Ukrposhta CEO Ihor Smelyansky.

The cooperation envisages the launch of a service that will provide convenient and affordable delivery of passports for Ukrainian citizens outside the country.

As part of the agreement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ukrposhta plan to determine the optimal logistical and cost-effective routes for mail delivery.

Thanks to the new service, Ukrainians will be able to order the delivery of passports to Ukrainian diplomatic missions in their countries of residence at a fixed price. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the single price for delivery to any country in the world will be only USD 6 and UAH 10 VAT, which is much cheaper than commercial services.

Users will be able to pay for the service through their personal account on Ukrposhta's website using the electronic stamp technology with a QR code.

After the passport is produced in Ukraine, Ukrposhta will promptly deliver it to the chosen diplomatic mission, where the applicant will be able to receive it.

Foreign Minister Kuleba emphasized the importance of this initiative, stressing that starting in September, Ukrainians abroad will be able to receive passports issued in Ukraine faster, at a lower price and under a simplified procedure.
