Poland remains one of the most popular migration destinations for Ukrainians. The majority of Ukrainian citizens who have moved have already integrated into the labour system of this country, which is confirmed by official data: as of the end of October 2024, 779.3 thousand Ukrainians were employed in the country, which is 66.7% of all employed foreigners.

Most Ukrainians work in the Mazovian Voivodeship - 188.1 thousand people. The majority of workers are aged 30 to 44.

However, the labour market is becoming increasingly competitive. With reference to the analysis of the analytical centre of the international employment agency Gremi Personal, we will tell you who is the main competition for Ukrainians and in which employment sectors this is particularly noticeable.

Main competitors of Ukrainians in the Polish labour market

According to the Polish Social Insurance Institution (ZUS), 1.168 million foreigners are employed in Poland. Ukrainians make up almost 68% of this group. Other nationalities competing with Ukrainians for jobs include:

▪️ Georgians and Belarusians - 7% of employed foreigners each. These are the largest groups competing with Ukrainians.

▪️ Moldovans - 6%.

▪️ Workers from Colombia and Zimbabwe - 3% each.

▪️ Filipinos and Uzbeks - 2% each.

▪️ Representatives of Rwanda and Armenia - 1% each.

Poland is increasingly attracting workers from Asia, Africa and South America. This is due to a decrease in the number of men among Ukrainians, who have traditionally made up the bulk of the workforce. Since March 2022, the share of men among employed Ukrainians has decreased from 60% to 40%, which has stimulated the search for workers from other regions.
