Ukrainian refugees living in Poland can once again apply for financial assistance from the IRC (International Rescue Committee). We will tell you how much refugees can expect and how to apply below.

Registration for IRC assistance resumed on March 2. This time, however, the assistance is intended for Ukrainians who arrived in Poland after October 1, 2022 and have not yet received assistance from the UN or other charitable organizations.

Who can receive assistance from the IRC?

When considering an application, the organization will give preference to certain categories of citizens who are in a particularly difficult situation, namely

- large families

- mothers with many children;

- persons with disabilities;

- families with chronically ill people.

It is also worth noting that filling out an application form does not guarantee further participation in the program. If you are approved, you will receive an SMS message inviting you to register within 10 days. In order to register, the participant must come to one of the IRC centers, which are located in only three cities - Warsaw, Poznan and Katowice.

You can fill out the application form for the IRC program here.

What do I need to receive financial assistance?

In particular, refugees from Ukraine need to

- document their entry into Poland starting from October 1, 2022;

- provide a PESEL number;

- indicate the current place of residence;

- the number of persons in the family, etc.

As we wrote above, registration does not mean that you will be approved for assistance, as the organization will give preference to a certain category of citizens (see Box 1).

What kind of assistance can Ukrainians expect?

The amount of assistance that the IRC will pay to Ukrainians is 710 PLN per applicant and 610 PLN for each family member, but up to a maximum of four people. Ukrainians should receive the funds within 3 months after submitting the application.

If you would like to learn more about the program, you can call the IRC hotline in Poland: +48 732 106 484 (Monday-Friday, 9:00 to 17:00 local time). The number is also registered in WhatsApp, Viber and Telegram messengers.

We remind you! Citizens of Ukraine who have moved to Poland can receive funds under the Family 500+ program. Read how to do this here.
