Ukraine's parliament has officially recognized racism as the state ideology of russia. Kyiv calls on the UN, the EU and governments of democratic countries to support the condemnation of this policy. Here's a look at what racism means and what are the characteristics of this term.

The proposal to call the russian regime racism came from members of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. In the document that was presented for voting, it was proposed to call the state ideology of the russian federation this way, since neo-imperial and totalitarian dictatorships were formed in this country, which inherit the worst practices of the past and embody the ideas of fascism and national socialism in the modern version of russian fascism (rashism).

What does the term rashism mean?

Rashism is proposed to be understood as a new type of totalitarian regime that has been formed in russia under the leadership of dictator vladimir putin and is based on the traditions of russian chauvinism and imperialism, the practices of the communist regime of the USSR and national socialism.

And so, racism is:

- violation of human rights;

- the cult of power and militarism;

- the cult of the leader's personality;

- russia's self-aggrandizement through the oppression of other nations;

- the use of language and culture as a tool for expansion and the imposition of the "russian world";

- violation of the norms and principles of international law and the sovereign rights of other states;

- creation, financing and armed support of illegal armed groups;

- use of prohibited methods of warfare;

- organizing and carrying out mass killings, creating artificial conditions for famine;

- regular threats with nuclear weapons and the creation of man-made disasters.

The symbol of racism is the "Z" sign

This Latin letter acquired a new meaning for Ukraine and the rest of the civilized world after russian troops began using it on their vehicles and as a designation for army units. Currently, the symbols in the form of the letters "Z" and "V" are banned on the territory of Ukraine, as they symbolize russian aggression.

Interestingly, the origin of the "Z" is a runic symbol called "Wolfsangel" - "wolf's hook". At different times, it was considered a symbol of cruel and unlimited tyranny, hatred, Nazism and neo-Nazism.

The letter Z was also present on the emblem of the 4th SS Police Panzergrenadier Division (4. SS-Polizei-Panzergrenadier-Division), which during World War II took part in battles in France, the USSR, Greece, Hungary, Poland, and Germany.

Why is racism inherent in russia?

As we wrote above, racism is based on the traditions of russian chauvinism and imperialism, the practices of the USSR's communist regime and national socialism. The Soviet traces in this ideology are visible to the naked eye, but why does this regime resemble Hitler's Nazism?

In putin's russia, there is a cult of superiority (greatness) of russian culture, language, history, army, and tradition over all others. In this country, the idea of the inferiority, secondary importance, provincialism, weakness, unpopularity, and underdevelopment of other cultures, languages, etc., including Ukrainian culture, is openly promoted.

This perception has prevailed among Russians at the mass and household level since the days of the russian empire and the USSR.

These were the criteria used by the German Nazis during World War II, when they tried to exalt the superiority of the "Aryan race" by force.

Other countries should also officially condemn racism

Ukraine has legalized this state ideology of the russian federation, but this is not enough to prevent its popularization in the future. The international community should reject any sympathy and risks of racism in other countries. The world must ban racism in the same way as it did with Nazism and fascism, as these cults entail genocide and mass suffering.

In the statement, the Ukrainian parliament appeals to the United Nations, the European Parliament, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, and foreign governments and parliaments to support the condemnation of the ideology, policy, and practice of racism.

We remind you! Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine has been going on for over a year. The aggressor is spending huge financial resources on it. How much longer the russian economy will be able to finance the fighting in Ukraine, we tell you here.
