Ukrainians continue to actively help the Armed Forces and support war victims. Citizens give not only money, but also personal belongings for victory. Charity auctions and raffles are quite common. The other day, Forbes told about the lots that collected the most money and their owners. Read what was the most expensive and where the money was spent in our article.


Top 5 most expensive lots that were sold to help Ukraine


  ● 1st place – Sculpture "Monkey from balloons"

The cost is $11,500,000

The work of the American sculptor Jeff Koons "Balloon Monkey" belonged to Viktor and Olena Pinchuk. In June 2022, it was sold at the famous Christie's auction. The funds received were directed to the launch of the Recovery rehabilitation project, within the framework of which 12 rehabilitation centers were built for military and civilians in need of prosthetics and treatment.


● 2nd place – Eurovision 2022 main prize

The cost is $900,000

Oleg Psyuk, the leader of the Ukrainian band "Kalush Orchestra", sold his prize in May 2022. The money was transferred to the Serhiy Prytula Foundation for the purchase of the PD-2 drone complex.


● 3rd place – Mercedes Benz Maybach car

The cost is $800,000

Businessman Maxim Shkil sold his car in August 2022. 50 SKYWIPER-OMNI electronic devices were purchased with the proceeds.


● 4th place – Painting by Maria Prymachenko “Flowers grew near the fourth power unit”

The cost is $500,000

The painting, which belonged to cultural figures Ihor Ponamarchuk and Daria Dobriyan, was sold in May 2022. Funds from patrons were directed to the needs of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.


● 5th place – "Budanov Map" with divided Russia

The cost is $378,000

In July 2023, the head of the GUR Kyrylo Budanov sold his very famous map with a divided Russia. He directed the funds for the purchase of five unmanned systems for the assault units of the GUR.

What else did the Ukrainians sell?


Among the other lots is another personal thing of the soloist of the band "Kalush Orchestra". Oleg Psyuk also sold his famous pink panama in May 2022. There were PD-2 drones for $303,000.


Andrii Danylko collected $285,000 for his Rolls-Royce Freddy Mercury. The funds were directed to the creation of a prosthetics center in Ukraine.


Also sold their cars:


● Kharkiv businessman Yuriy Sapronov bought cars for the Armed Forces with $100,000 proceeds from the sale of a Porsche 911 carrera.

● Businessman Denys Paramonov sold Bentley continental GT speed in July 2023 for $75,000 to help Ukrainian medical institutions.

● Ukrainian TV presenter Dmytro Komarov sold his Chrysler Crossfire sports car for $25,000 and bought cars for the Armed Forces.



At once, several lots related to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky collected considerable funds at auctions:


● In June 2022, the Ukrainian House in Washington sold an embroidered shirt of the president for $100,000.

● A portrait of President Zelenskyi, taken by photographer Oleksandr Chekmenyev for the cover of Time magazine, was sold at the Forbes Entrepreneur of the Year auction for $165,000. The funds were directed to the restoration of the lyceum in the village of Bohdanivka.


Lots from Ukrainian athletes


Many Ukrainian athletes also do not stand aside and sell their prizes, cups and personal belongings at auctions.


● In August 2022, basketball player Stanislav Medvedenko sold two NBA rings he won as part of the Los Angeles Lakers for $253,000. He directed the funds to the needs of the "Reach for the Heavens" foundation.

● Football player Danylo Sikan donated his gold medal of the U-20 World Champion 2019 for charitable purposes. It was sold for $32,000, and the money was donated to the Ukraine Alive 2022 fund.

● Ukrainian samboist and mixed martial artist Yaroslav Amosov donated $32,000 he received from the sale of his gloves from the fight against Logan Storly and $16,700 from the sale of shorts from the same fight to the needs of the "Honor" company. Oleksandr Usyk also supported this military unit.


This is just a small list of things that cost more than $5,000. In fact, there are a lot of sold lots. Ukrainian athletes, businessmen, cultural figures and ordinary citizens support the Armed Forces of Ukraine every day with their donations.
