Ukraine has achieved amazing results in the global charity ranking, taking second place. This was reported by the British Charities Aid Foundation.

For the sixth year in a row, Indonesia has been recognized as the most generous country.

World Charity Ranking: Ukraine took an honorable second place

Ukraine's achievements in the field of philanthropy have been recognized according to CAF, which shows that the country has received 13 points since 2022. Compared to the previous year, when Ukraine was ranked 10th, this is an impressive increase.

According to CAF, Ukrainians have been so generous that they are compared to "real mountain climbers" of charity.

An interesting detail is that there is a high percentage of people among Ukrainian adults who provide assistance: 78% help strangers, 70% regularly make charitable contributions, and 37% volunteer.

The charity ranking is calculated based on the average of each country's responses, and Ukraine received a high ranking (13 points). This indicator shows that the majority of the population is actively involved in charitable activities.

What are the rankings of other countries in the world's charity ranking?

The overall global philanthropy index remains high at 39 points, which is only one point below the maximum level recorded in 2021.

These results indicate that the increased level of global giving that emerged during the pandemic remains a sustainable phenomenon.

The top 10 most generous countries in the world include Indonesia, Ukraine, Kenya, Liberia, the United States, Myanmar, Kuwait, Canada, Nigeria, and New Zealand. At the same time, Russia failed to even enter the top 100, ranking 102nd.

Poland took the last place (142nd).

The largest charitable foundations in Ukraine

In the first six months of 2023, the largest charitable foundations in Ukraine were UNITED24, Come Back Alive, and the Serhiy Prytula Foundation. These organizations raised a total of UAH 8.35 billion. This is 22% less than in the same period last year.

However, an absolute record of UAH 2.4 billion was set in June. In nine months, the funds raised UAH 12.5 billion, and UNITED24 remains the leader.

The "Come Back Alive" fund also recorded a record amount of funds raised in August, which is the highest in the last year and a half, according to the analysis of the Opendatabot platform.
