In a commentary to Kyiv24, Mykhailo Shcherbyna, deputy director for defense issues at the Department of Municipal Security of the Kyiv City State Administration, explained that the current plan is to restrict mass gatherings and, possibly, some mass events. The main reason is that "the arrival of Zircon missiles from Crimea takes 2-3 minutes. You saw this week that the announcement of the alert almost coincided with the explosions in the city. Therefore, we need to think through all the measures in advance," he summarized.
At the same time, Popko asked Kyiv residents and visitors not to panic and remain calm.
"We are taking preventive measures to ensure that Kyiv and its residents are reliably protected. Follow the safety rules - do not ignore air raid warnings. Take care of yourself," he said.
