Ukrainian men will no longer be able to obtain documents for travelling abroad in the German state of Hesse. This is reported by DW.
The Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of Hesse provided an official response to the request of the parliamentary faction of the right-populist party "Alternative for Germany" on 31 July.
It said that Hesse's foreign affairs offices will not issue Ukrainian men of mobilisation age with German certificates replacing documents for travel abroad.
"They are able to go to Ukraine to obtain a passport and military service," - stated in the message.

It is known that in Hesse lives about 20 thousand Ukrainian men aged 18 to 60 years. The ministry also added that encouraging men to return to Ukraine and participate in the defence against russian aggression is "understandable interests of Ukraine".
German travel documents can serve as a substitute for foreign passports and are issued to foreigners in exceptional cases. These documents are granted to individuals who can prove that they cannot obtain or do not have passports. Each such decision is considered and made individually.
