How was the survey conducted?
The survey of Lviv visitors was conducted by face-to-face interviews, during which students of the Department of Sociology at the Ukrainian Catholic University interviewed 638 respondents aged 16 and older.
The sample was formed by random selection, which allowed us to obtain representative data on typical visitors to the city. However, elements of positive discrimination were added to the sample, which ensured sufficient representation of internally displaced persons and foreign visitors among the respondents.
The survey was conducted in the most visited places in Lviv that attract both locals and tourists. The main locations included:
• Rynok Square
• Memorial to the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred
• Vernissage market
• Kryva Lypa Lane
• Square near the Lviv National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after S. Krushelnytska
• Modular town for internally displaced persons
• Hotels, cultural and entertainment facilities
This combination of locations ensured a diversity of respondents and allowed us to get a full picture of the different aspects of tourist flow in the city during the war.
