A new level of security: Ukraine has created an app to prevent air threats in real time

Odesa engineers have developed a unique app called Fluger that warns of air threats in real time. Learn more about the app's functions, how it works, user safety, and the first results of its use
The Odesa-based design bureau Technari has presented a new innovative app called Fluger, which is part of an air defense system. The app allows users to receive real-time warnings of air threats, such as cruise missiles or Shaheed-type kamikaze drones.
The application is already available for Android users on Google Play, and an iOS version is expected in the near future.
According to the bureau's co-founder Gennadiy Suldin, the app was initially targeted at the military, but its potential has made it possible to make Vane available to a wider audience.
How does Vane work?
“Weathervane is a simple and effective tool that helps users determine the direction and distance to a threat using a system of concentric circles with radii of 15, 30, and 45 km. These distances are calculated based on the speed of cruise missiles:
15 km - 1 minute before impact
30 km - 2 minutes
45 km - 3 minutes, which can be decisive for finding shelter
Thanks to this system, users can quickly assess the level of danger and take the necessary measures to protect themselves.
The program is also able to track multiple targets simultaneously, maintaining accuracy and providing clear threat vectors.

Features and benefits of the application
1. Ease of use: “Weathervane does not require registration, authorization, or data collection. The user simply installs the application and immediately gets access to the functionality.
2. Data security: The history of requests is not stored, and color coding allows you to quickly assess the level of threat:
• Green - no threat
• Yellow - alarm, you should be prepared
• Red - hide immediately
3. Availability: The app is available throughout Ukraine and has already received positive feedback from users.
First results of use
In the first few hours after the launch, more than a thousand users downloaded the app. The app has already saved lives by helping people respond quickly to threats.
According to Gennadiy Suldin, one of the users avoided serious consequences thanks to a timely notification from the app: “She saw the threat and hid. The blast wave damaged the window, but she was safe.”
The Technari Design Bureau continues to work on improving the Vane. They plan to expand the app's functionality and create an iOS version.
In addition, the bureau plans to produce 500-700 small arms simulators by 2025.
