Winter holidays in Bulgaria: conditions of entry into the country
On December 20, Bulgaria lifted the ban on tourist trips from Ukraine - the winter season was saved.
Entry rules to Bulgaria
Persons who provide one of the documents are allowed on the territory of the country:
- digital COVID EU vaccination certificate or similar document; or
- digital COVID certificate of the EU on the transferred illness or similar document; or
- EU digital COVID PCR test certificate or similar document.
But please note that Ukrainians have the right to enter with the Diya application or a document printed from the Diya portal. That is, any routine reference from the laboratory or doctor will not be accepted.
Children under 12 years old can freely enter the territory of Bulgaria.
Vaccines that Bulgaria recognizes are AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria), Covaxin, Janssen, Moderna (Spikevax), Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty), Sinopharm, Sinovac and Sputnik V.
Persons who do not provide the required document are quarantined for 10 days. It can be shortened if you do a PCR or rapid antigen test no earlier than 72 hours after arrival in the country. In the event of a negative result of the conducted research, the quarantine of the person shall be considered terminated from the day following the day of receipt of the result.
What to do in Bulgaria in winter?
Winter Bulgaria is a magical nature, well-equipped ski slopes, favorable weather: in the cold month of January, the average temperature is +2, and snow in the mountains lasts up to 130 days.
The special charm of Bulgaria is given by 190 lakes and 79 mountain peaks over 2500 meters high.
And rest in this wonderful country does not require large spending. Therefore, recently ski tours to Bulgaria are in great demand during the winter holidays and vacations.
The most famous ski resorts in Bulgaria are Bansko, Borovets, Pamporovo and Vitosha, which have excellent slopes for all categories of skiers and snowboarders, modern lifts, good ski schools.

The simultaneous stay of visitors in the hotel lobby not more than one person per 10 square meters of serviceable area is allowed.
Persons can visit hotels and stay there (outside hotel room) only if they wear respirator or face mask (including homemade mask), so that the nose and mouth are covered.
Hotel guests are obliged to keep the 1.5 meters distance.
Online check-in making in advance is recommended to avoid queues at check-in to hotel.
Meals in hotels are provided through meals delivery service to rooms upon prior order or at hotel restaurants situated inside or in open areas, provided the distance of at least 1.5 meters between seats at adjacent tables.
Not more than 4 clients are allowed to stay at the table (excluding children under 14 years old). Unless these tables are separated by a special partition;
Self-serve is not allowed.
