On March 30, 2025, Ukraine will switch to daylight saving time by moving the clocks forward by one hour. Many countries in the world and Europe are also changing their clocks, so the difference with their time zones will remain similar.

What will be the time difference with other countries?

Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, France, Italy, Spain - Ukraine will be 1 hour ahead of them.

UK, Ireland, Portugal - Ukraine will be 2 hours ahead.

Egypt - Ukraine will be 1 hour ahead.

USA (New York, Washington) - Ukraine will be 7 hours ahead.

USA (Los Angeles) - Ukraine will be 10 hours ahead.

Canada (Toronto, Montreal ) - Ukraine will be 7 hours ahead.

Canada (Vancouver ) - Ukraine will be 10 hours ahead.

China - China will be 5 hours ahead of Ukraine.

Japan - Japan will be 6 hours ahead of Ukraine.

Important! After daylight saving time, Ukrainians will feel the change in international travel schedules, especially in air transportation. It is important to follow the updated flight and train schedules.

When do clocks change in the EU?

In the EU countries, daylight saving time will be changed on the night of March 29-30. At 2:00 a.m. local time, clocks will be set forward one hour to 3:00 a.m.

It is worth noting that all EU countries set their clocks forward in accordance with the EU's common legislation.

Interestingly, Iceland does not follow this practice - it remains on Coordinated Universal Time (UTC+0) throughout the year. Despite the fact that Iceland is not a member of the EU, it is a member of the Schengen area.

In addition, since 2016, Turkey has also not changed its clocks, remaining always at UTC+3. Therefore, when Ukraine switches to daylight saving time, it will be on par with Turkey and there will be no time difference between the countries.

Health effects of daylight saving time

Studies show that daylight saving time can negatively affect people's sleep, mental health, and general well-being. Lack of sleep and biorhythms can lead to increased fatigue and impaired concentration.

Potential abolition of daylight saving time

Since 2019, the European Parliament has been supporting the idea of abolishing seasonal daylight saving time, but has not yet agreed on a final decision.
