Climbing Hoverla will be an unforgettable experience for those who dream of climbing the highest peak in Ukraine and feeling the special energy of the mountains. Find out more about how to conquer Hoverla with Visit Ukraine
The Carpathian Mountains are not just mountains, they are a place of strength, inspiration and unforgettable scenery. Among them, Hoverla, the highest peak in Ukraine, stands out as a particularly prominent one, attracting travellers from all over the country and the world every year. Trekking to Hoverla is not only a sporting challenge, but also an opportunity to learn more about the beauty of Ukrainian nature, feel the majesty of the mountains and be alone with yourself.
What awaits you on this exciting tour is described below.
Along the paths of beech and coniferous forests
Your route starts in Yaremche, a picturesque city in the heart of the Carpathians, known for its authenticity and natural beauty. From here, you will head to the Zaroslyak tourist centre, where you will begin your ascent to the top.
The ascent begins along forest paths: first, travellers pass through beech and coniferous plantations, where the air is saturated with the aroma of pine needles. Gradually, with each step, wider panoramas open up - you can see mountain ranges that seem to float in the blue.
Alpine meadows and incredible views
Then the route leads you to the alpine meadows - it is here that nature reveals itself in all its glory. From the height you can see the silhouette of Hoverla itself, which rises majestically ahead. The air becomes cooler, the landscape more open, and the emotions brighter.

2 061 metres above sea level
The last stage is the final ascent. And now you are standing on the top of Hoverla. Here, at an altitude of 2,061 metres, a breathtaking panorama of the Montenegrin ridge opens up: Petros, Brebeneskul, Shpytsi - all in the palm of your hand. In clear weather, you can even see the Romanian Carpathians. These views are unforgettable.
At the top you will have time for lunch, photos, rest and reflection. After that, the descent along the familiar route begins - with new impressions and lightness in your heart. At the end of the trip, you will be transferred back to Yaremche - satisfied, happy and a little tired, you will return home with the conquered peak.
