Do Ukrainians need a visa to enter Mozambique?
Starting in 2025, Ukrainian citizens can enter Mozambique without a visa for short-term tourist or business trips. However, you must obtain an electronic travel authorization (ETA) in advance.
What is an ETA and why is it needed?
An ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) is a mandatory online entry permit for Mozambique that must be obtained at least 48 hours before travel. It is not a visa, but without an ETA, border guards will not allow you to enter the country.
How can Ukrainian citizens obtain an ETA?
- Go to the official website.
- Register and fill out the electronic form
- Indicate the purpose of your trip, dates, and passport details
- Upload the necessary documents (passport, reservations, tickets, etc.)
- Submit your application and wait for confirmation (usually arrives within a few hours or up to 1–2 days)
- Print out your ETA or save it on your phone — you will need to show it upon entry
Is there a fee?
Yes, upon entry into the country, Ukrainian citizens must pay an administrative fee of 650 meticais (approximately $10). Payment is made at the border, and it is advisable to have cash on hand.
What documents are required upon entry?
- Passport valid for at least 6 months
- Valid ETA
- Hotel reservation confirmation or invitation
- Return tickets or confirmation of departure from the country
- Documents confirming financial solvency (cash, bank card, etc.)
- Medical insurance
How long can I stay in Mozambique?
The ETA allows you to stay in Mozambique for up to 30 days, with the possibility of a one-time extension for another 30 days (by contacting the immigration service on site).
