While abroad, it is important to be prepared for anything. In particular, know the emergency contact numbers. Find out the phone numbers of important services in EU countries
Emergencies can also happen abroad. In this case, it is important to be focused and respond quickly by calling the necessary rescue services. We recommend memorizing the contacts of the most important services that will be useful abroad.
Emergency assistance to the population
Each country of the European Union has a single emergency line - 112. If you forget the phone number of a specific service in the country where you are, call 112.
Poland
The country that has received the most Ukrainian refugees has an extensive emergency assistance system. Depending on the situation, choose where to go:
• Ambulance (Pogotowie Ratunkowe) - 999
• Fire Department (Straż Pożarna) - 998
• Police (Policja) - 997
• Emergency water supply service (Pogotowie Wodociągowe) - 994
• Emergency heating service (Pogotowie Ciepłownicze) - 993
• Gas emergency service (Pogotowie Gazowe) - 992
• Energy Emergency Service (Pogotowie Energetyczne) - 991

In addition to rescue services, it is important for Ukrainians to know where to get help as displaced persons. The help line is available around the clock by calling +48 222 309 900. It is important that the consultants speak Ukrainian and English. You can get an offline consultation in special institutions - see the list of addresses here.
We also recommend that you memorize the telephone number of the hotline of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland - +48 47 721 75 75.

To call the appropriate emergency service, call 112. The operator will ask you to describe your situation and direct the call to one of the following services: emergency medical care (Rettungsdienst), police (Polizei) or fire service (Feuerwehr).
You can call the police directly by dialing 110. This line is available around the clock and operators speak both German and English.
If your problem does not require immediate attention, call 116117. For non-emergency medical consultations, you can contact the doctor on duty or the nurse line at 0800 4759 2330.
