On July 1, the Ukrainian authorities lifted the quarantine and other restrictions imposed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The absence of quarantine, mask regime and mandatory vaccination does not mean that the world has overcome the coronavirus. It is still with us and can pose a threat to life and health. However, the pandemic has been overcome, so the virus should be treated like other seasonal diseases.

The number of people wishing to come to Ukraine has increased due to the new regulations, and at the same time, the number of questions about entering Ukraine has increased. We will discuss whether there are any covid restrictions left in the country and other important aspects to consider before visiting Ukraine in the article below.

Covid restrictions and vaccination

After the quarantine is lifted, foreigners do not need to provide proof of vaccination and wear a protective mask. At the same time, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine recommends using preventive measures: masks, antiseptics and social distance in crowded places, as well as timely vaccination.

There is no single global approach to imposing or lifting coronavirus restrictions, so tourists should monitor the situation in their destination country. Currently, each country makes its own decisions.

Visit to Ukraine: rules for planning and staying

The most important rule is to take care of your own safety and comfort. Therefore, in order to ensure that the trip goes according to plan and brings only positive impressions, we recommend that you:

● Purchase tickets in advance. Since there are no flights to Ukraine, buy bus or train tickets;

● check the queues at the borders;

● purchase an insurance policy covering military risks;

● book a hotel room;

● find out the prices of hotels, food and transportation at your destination.

Important! Be sure to follow the rules of behavior during an air raid and do not neglect your safety. In the event of an air alert, immediately go to the nearest shelter!

Purpose of the trip and duration of stay in Ukraine

Despite the war, foreign citizens come to Ukraine for both tourist and business purposes.

For tourist purposes, you can stay in Ukraine for up to 90 days within 180 days. If a foreigner wants to stay in the country longer, they need to obtain a permanent or temporary residence permit. But you can't just get it, because you need to have an appropriate reason. These include educational, sports, volunteer activities, employment, training, etc. Read more about obtaining a residence permit and entry rules here.

Foreigners planning a long-term trip or migration to Ukraine face a much larger number of questions, especially those related to the legal aspects of the trip.
