Ukraine has extended the postponement of mobilisation for some people: who will not be drafted?
Inhaltsübersicht
As is known, in Ukraine, enterprises can book their employees against mobilisation. However, not everyone is entitled to it. Find out what reservation has been extended in the country and who can count on it
The Government of Ukraine has extended the deferral period for people who have received reservations from the Ministry of Economy for another month. However, this decision will not affect everyone.
According to the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution, the automatic reservation period applies only to those whose reservation period has not expired as of the date of the decision, i.e. 7 May.
At the same time, Deputy Minister of Economy Ihor Fomenko said that the government is currently working on amendments to the legislation on reservations for Ukrainians liable for military service in accordance with the new law on mobilisation, which will come into force on 18 May.
Thus, in the future, companies will be able to book their employees under the new rules.
Who can now be reserved for mobilisation?
The list of persons who can be issued a reservation from mobilisation is quite wide, but these people, in the opinion of the state, are employees of critical structures, namely
- state and local government bodies;
- media and culture;
- enterprises that have been assigned mobilisation tasks;
- manufacturers of goods for the Armed Forces;
- enterprises that manufacture and repair military equipment and ammunition;
- other institutions of critical importance to Ukraine's economy.
In addition, the new law on mobilisation introduces new categories of citizens who can be reserved from mobilisation:
- Members of Parliament and their assistants;
- beneficial owners of enterprises of critical importance;
- civil servants involved in analysing draft laws or supporting the work of information and communication technologies of the Verkhovna Rada and the Cabinet of Ministers.
