The Chinese New Year, known as the Spring Festival, will begin on January 29 and last until February 16 in 2025, ending with the Lantern Festival. It is the most important holiday in Chinese culture, symbolizing the beginning of the new lunar year and bringing families together for celebrations.

Symbolism of 2025: The Year of the Green Wooden Snake

According to the Chinese zodiac, 2025 will be the year of the Green Wooden Snake. The snake is associated with wisdom, intuition, and transformation, while the element of Wood symbolizes growth, creativity, and harmony.

The combination of these elements indicates a period of personal development, self-discovery and new opportunities.

Celebrating traditions

Before the New Year, it is customary to thoroughly clean the house to get rid of the old and negative, preparing a place for good luck and prosperity.

The color red is considered a symbol of good luck and protection from evil spirits. Houses are decorated with red lanterns, ribbons and paper crafts, and doors and windows are decorated with inscriptions wishing happiness and success.

The New Year is a time of family reunion. People return to their homes to spend time with their loved ones, enjoying meals together and exchanging gifts.

The final chord of the festivities is the Lantern Festival, when the streets are lit with thousands of lanterns to symbolize the illumination of the path of good spirits and mark the end of the holiday period.
