Ukraine has begun paying state aid to families with children under the “yeYasla” program. Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced that the first 1,370 people are already receiving funds.
“The payment is 8,000 hryvnia per month when the mother, father, or guardian returns to work after the child turns 1 year old. The funds can be used to pay for a nanny, assistant, or kindergarten,” the prime minister said.
Special accounts and receiving payments
Special accounts for receiving funds can now be opened at Oschadbank. This simplifies the process and ensures that the assistance is safely credited to the bank account.
According to Svyrydenko, the government wants to make receiving assistance as convenient and transparent as possible, in particular, it plans to expand the possibilities for submitting applications through the “Dія” app.

Childcare assistance for children under 1 year of age
In addition to the “yeYasla” program, since the beginning of 2026, more than 46,000 families have already received childcare payments for children under 1 year of age, which now amount to 7,000 hryvnia per month.
“Receiving assistance should be simple, understandable, and convenient for families,” the prime minister emphasized.
New payment procedure in 2026
From January 1, 2026, Ukraine will have a new procedure for state assistance to families with children:
A one-time payment upon the birth of a child — 50,000 hryvnia.
The “yeYasla” program — 8,000 hryvnia per month for parents who return to work after their child reaches one year of age.
Additional payments of 7,000 hryvnia per month for pregnant women who are not officially employed.
Delays and peculiarities of registration
In February, it became known about delays in the registration of “child” payments, which increased from January 1. According to the Pension Fund, in January 2026 alone, 96,000 applications for various types of assistance were received.
The government urges parents to be careful when filling out documents and to use online services to receive funds quickly.
This program is designed to support families and facilitate parents' return to work by providing financial assistance for childcare and payment for necessary services, such as a nanny or kindergarten.
We remind you! From the beginning of 2026, Ukrainians will have to take into account the updated tariffs for processing passport documents and residence permits. The changes affect ID cards and foreign passports, as well as documents for temporary and permanent residence, which directly affects the costs when planning to replace or obtain new documents. Read how much it now costs to obtain a passport in Ukraine and what prices will apply in 2026.
