How much money do you need to cross the border?
When entering Costa Rica, tourists must provide proof of financial support in the amount of at least USD 100 for each month or part of a month of legal stay. You must also have a return ticket or proof of onward travel.
If you are bringing in cash or financial instruments worth more than USD 10,000, you must declare them.

When entering Costa Rica, you may be asked to specify the purpose of your trip and show your accommodation reservations or return tickets. Particular attention is now being paid to tourists with long stays or without a clear travel itinerary. What vaccinations do I need before entering Costa Rica?
