New draft law to extend the deadline for updating military records: important details
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has registered a draft law to extend the deadline for updating data for persons liable for military service from 60 to 150 days. Learn more about the main provisions of the new draft law
On May 29, members of the Verkhovna Rada registered a draft law that proposes to extend the deadline for updating military registration data to 150 days. According to the current law on mobilization, which came into force on May 18, all citizens of Ukraine liable for military service must update their data in the military registration and enlistment office within 60 days.
In our previous article, we explained that under the new law on mobilization, persons liable for military service must update their data within a certain period of time. Failure to do so will result in a fine.
Main provisions of the new draft law on the deadlines for updating military registration data
According to the draft law 11305 on amendments to the final and transitional provisions of the Law “On certain issues of military service, mobilization and military registration”, it is proposed to increase the period for updating data in the TSC, ASC or the Electronic Office of the person liable for military service to 150 days. This proposal was made by opposition MPs.
Recently, Volodymyr Ariev, a member of the European Solidarity party, said on a Ukrainian TV channel that the CCC system is not yet ready to accept such a large number of citizens to update their data. Even after updating the data in the “Reserve+” application and information on the wanted list, one still has to visit the TSC.
Volodymyr Ariev believes that it is simply impossible to update all citizens' data in 60 days. Therefore, MPs have decided to submit a draft law to extend the deadline to 150 days and will demand that the Government and the Ministry of Defense take all necessary measures to “unload the TSC” and organize effective data updating and online registration in the TSC.

However, there is an opposite opinion among MPs. For example, Fedir Venislavsky, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security and the President's representative in parliament, believes that this is just a “political PR move.” The MP from the Servant of the People party emphasizes that there is currently no reason to believe that “the ways of updating the data provided by law will not allow this to happen.”
It is important to note that this draft law does not extend the deadlines for military registration; citizens must do so immediately.
We remind you! In 2024, men who have not reached the age of military service or have been removed from the military register, as well as women and children, will be able to cross the border of Ukraine. However, since May 2024, specific restrictions have been in place when crossing the border. Read more about who can leave Ukraine in 2024.
