The National Bank of Ukraine has approved the regulations of the electronic payment system (EPS) and the procedure for the banking system in the period ending in 2024 and beginning in 2025.
Banking hours
During this period, as well as throughout 2024, the EPS will operate around the clock 24/7 with the date of the current calendar day in accordance with the System's Technological Regulations.
On 30 December 2024, payments in foreign currency from the State Treasury Service of Ukraine through the National Bank and JSC Ukreximbank will be made until 13:00, and payments for the repayment and servicing of public debt will be made until 16:00.
In addition, on 31 December 2024 and 1 January 2025, the SEP will not accept payment and information messages from and to the State Treasury Service. At the same time, Ukraine's banking system, foreign exchange market, and the NBU depository will operate as usual.
The regulator notes that banks should stock their cash desks and ATMs with cash of various denominations in advance to ensure uninterrupted customer service.

Why are there no public holidays in Ukraine?
As you know, Ukraine has been living under martial law for almost three years. Therefore, certain labour laws have been temporarily suspended in the country.
In particular, public holidays have been cancelled, and a day off is not transferred to the day following a public holiday if it falls on a Saturday or Sunday.
We remind you! The curfew in Ukraine has been in place since the beginning of the full-scale war. We told you whether any changes are planned for the New Year holidays.
