The war declared by Hamas against Israel on October 7 was the largest clash in recent years. However, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has deep historical roots, making it one of the longest-running confrontations of our time. After all, if we are talking about the outbreak of a war purely between Palestine and Israel, it began in the middle of the last century, namely in 1948, with the founding of Israel, the world's only Jewish country. However, the historical basis of this conflict goes back a couple thousand years.

Why did Palestine declare war on Israel?

Palestine is a territory that Jews consider their historical homeland, arguing that in biblical times Jewish tribes lived there. However, why is it that the local population of Palestine is Arab?

The fact is that before the founding of Israel, Jews did not have their own country and were nomadic people. But after the defeat of the Ottoman Empire in World War I, Jews began to move to Palestine, which fell under British control. At that time, these lands were inhabited mainly by Arabs, and Jews were in the minority.

The level of tension between the peoples increased, among other things, because the international community gave Britain the task of creating a "national home" for Jews in Palestine, since these territories were the home of their ancestors. However, the Arabs did not support this step and declared their own claims to these lands.

From the 1920s to the 1940s, a record number of Jews arrived in Palestine as they fled persecution in Europe and the Holocaust, which was caused by World War II. It should be noted that Hitler murdered 6 million Jews out of the approximately 9 million who lived in Europe at the time.

In 1947, the United Nations voted to divide Palestine into two parts, Jewish and Arab, and Jerusalem was to become an international city. However, only the Jewish side accepted the conditions, and the Arabs rejected the "offer."

The outbreak of the war in Israel, Al-Nakba, or the Shoah

The year 1948 triggered an irreversible process, as Britain failed to resolve the conflict and withdrew, and the Jews announced the creation of the state of Israel. Thus began the war between neighboring Arab countries and Israel.

Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians fled their homes or were forcibly evicted from them. They call it al-Nakba, or "The Catastrophe."

In 1949, the fighting ended, Israel controlled most of the territory, Jordan occupied the West Bank, and Egypt occupied Gaza.  However, a peace agreement was never concluded, and the parties to the conflict continued to fight in the following decades.

In 1967, Israel took control of the eastern part of Jerusalem, which had been controlled by Jordan until then. In addition, Israeli troops occupied the West Bank, a large part of the Syrian Golan Heights, the Gaza Strip, and the Sinai Peninsula.

It should be noted that Israel has banned Palestinians from returning to their homes, as they believe this will threaten the existence of the Jewish state.

Disputes over Jerusalem continue to this day. Israel claims the entire city as its capital, while the Palestinians consider the eastern part of the city to be theirs.

Although Israel has withdrawn from the Gaza Strip, disputes between the peoples in East Jerusalem, Gaza, and the West Bank continue to this day.

The modern war in Israel: what is happening now

In 1987, a militant group called Hamas was formed in the Gaza Strip, which engaged in hostilities with Israel many times and eventually entered the country on October 7. Note that the Gaza Strip is actually controlled by militants, not the Palestinian National Authority. Islamic Jihad militants are also involved in the armed aggression.

Analysts believe that the attack was planned in advance, and the timing of the invasion was not accidental. In particular, among the reasons is Israel's recent statement on "normalizing relations" with Saudi Arabia, and as you know, Riyadh has not met with and financed the Palestinian Authority and local militants for several decades.

Now a "peaceful settlement" is impossible, and Israel is talking about the complete destruction of Hamas.

How can Ukrainians in Israel get help?

Confidence in the future: where is it possible?

Nowadays, when the world is facing such serious issues as the possibility of World War III, we are all concerned about our security and future. However, there are parts of the world that remain calm and develop despite external shocks. One of these paradises is the beautiful island of Bali.

Geographically, islands like Bali can help with security in the face of significant conflicts and wars, such as in Ukraine, Israel, and African countries.

Bali, with its unique combination of natural beauty and cultural heritage, continues to attract not only tourists but also investors and migrants who want to escape from what is happening in the world. In addition to the beautiful scenery and friendly citizens, you will find many opportunities to invest in various projects. For example, ANTA Residence Canggu.

A profitable option for investing in Bali is to purchase premium apartments in ANTA Residence Canggu from a reliable international developer ANTA Group, which has been operating in the real estate market for over 10 years.
