What is motor third party liability insurance for motorcycles and why is it mandatory?

Motor third party liability insurance (MTPL) for motorcycles protects the owner against financial expenses related to compensation of losses to third parties in the event of an accident. According to Ukrainian law, driving a motorcycle without a valid CTPCI policy is prohibited and subject to fines.

1. Go to the Visit Ukraine website in the car insurance section. Choose the type of TPL insurance.

2. Fill in the following items: insurance period, vehicle type and insurance start date.

3 Read the insurance packages and choose the one that suits you.

4. Specify the parameters of the motorcycle: number, country of destination, make, model, year of manufacture, year of registration and VIN-code.

5. Enter your personal details, including full name, contact phone number, email address, etc.

What determines the cost of MTPL insurance for motorcycles?

The cost of an MTPL policy for motorcycles and scooters, in particular, depends on the engine size - up to 300 cm3 and over 300 cm3.

Also, insurance rates may vary depending on the region where the vehicle is used.

In addition, there are different insurance packages on our portal, depending on the insurance deductible: 3200, 1600 and 0 UAH.

For example MTPL insurance for a motorcycle with an engine capacity of more than 300 cm3 in Kharkiv with coverage for 1 year will cost from UAH 1214 to UAH 1862, depending on the deductible. At the same time, the price of motorcycle insurance for a motorcycle with an engine capacity of up to 300 cc under the same conditions will vary from UAH 607 to UAH 931.
