The Embassy of the Republic of Albania was inaugurated in Kyiv, a landmark event in the bilateral relations between Ukraine and Albania. The ceremony was attended by the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiga and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Albania Hoxha Haxani.
Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiga stressed that the opening of the diplomatic mission is an important step towards strengthening friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
‘This is a symbol of Ukrainian-Albanian resilience, unity and a common future in the EU and NATO,’ he said.
In addition to the opening of the embassy, the two sides signed the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between Ukraine and Albania. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, this document was developed to consolidate the basic principles of cooperation between the two countries, as well as to further develop political, economic and cultural ties.

Rules of entry to Ukraine for citizens of Albania
It should be noted that the two countries have a visa-free regime, which allows citizens to stay in the territory of one country or the other for up to 90 days.
The border of Ukraine is crossed with a foreign passport. However, the ID card does not give the right to enter (except for citizens of Turkey and Georgia).
Foreigners crossing the border under the visa-free regime enter Ukraine provided that
- they have a valid passport document;
- no decision of an authorised state body of Ukraine prohibiting entry into Ukraine;
- availability of medical insurance;
- confirmation of the purpose of the planned stay;
- availability of sufficient financial support for the period of the planned stay and for returning to the state of origin or transit to a third state.
