Ryanair is considering options for returning to the Ukrainian market. However, there is one important condition for this. Find out when the airline plans to launch flights from Ukraine

What does the company say about the timing?
Michael O'Leary, the airline's chief executive, said Ryanair is developing a plan to start flights within four to six weeks of the end of the war.
‘I really hope it will happen this year. I think one of the things that Trump can do, I hope, will be to resolve the issue of Russia's illegal invasion of Ukraine as soon as possible,’ he said.
At the same time, he stressed that the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) requirements for the resumption of flights would only be satisfied by an official cessation of hostilities.
‘Ultimately, there will need to be some sort of ceasefire because EASA will not allow flights to resume over the area unless they have some reasonable assurance that there are no missiles flying over there,’ Michael O'Leary added.

What routes does Ryanair plan to launch in Ukraine?
Ryanair plans to open about 24 routes to Kyiv and Lviv. The capacity will be provided by redirecting aircraft based at airports such as Stansted in London and Orly in Paris to serve these cities.
The company notes that it may take longer to resume flights to Odesa due to the level of damage, while some hubs in the east and south have been ‘bombed to bits’ and effectively destroyed, referring to the airport in Kherson.

This is not the first time there has been talk of resuming flights to Ukraine
Earlier, Marsh McLennan Senior Partner Crispin Allison said that flights at one of the Ukrainian airports - Lviv or Boryspil - should resume by the end of January 2025.
At the same time, Lviv Airport is exploring the possibility of opening flights for civil aviation during martial law, provided that security is ensured.
Despite the fact that some regions of Ukraine are far from the contact line, there is a military threat in all regions of the country. Therefore, if you are travelling to Ukraine, we recommend that you take out an insurance policy covering military risks.
We remind you! Supernova Airlines, a subsidiary of Nova Poshta, has been granted the rights to operate regular international flights Lviv - Prague and Kyiv - Prague.
