Is it safe to visit Ukraine in 2025?

In 2025, unfortunately, hostilities will continue in Ukraine, so it is important to soberly assess the level of potential danger before planning a trip. Before you go, you should read the current recommendations of the Ukrainian government, which are regularly updated. They contain information about the regions that are the safest to stay in, as well as advice on how to act in case of emergencies.

The eastern and southern regions of Ukraine, in particular Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia and partially Odesa, remain the most dangerous. These territories are either in the zone of active hostilities or subject to regular shelling by Russian troops.

At the same time, the central, western and some northern regions of Ukraine are considered relatively safe. Infrastructure, accommodation facilities, public transport, and even tourist attractions are gradually resuming operations.

Important! If you are planning a trip to Ukraine by your own car, we recommend taking out voluntary Mini CASCO car insurance. Choose a package that covers even war risks - this is a guarantee of your financial security in unforeseen situations.

What is important to know for those who are going to visit Ukraine?

To ensure a safe trip to Ukraine in 2025, follow these recommendations:

- Check official information. Read the recommendations of your country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding travel to Ukraine. Follow the messages on the websites of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and local authorities.

- Prepare your documents. Make sure that your passport is valid and that your visa (if required) is properly issued. Make copies of important documents (passport, insurance policy, visa) and save them digitally.

- Take care of your health insurance. Your policy should cover treatment in Ukraine, including possible emergencies, and it is advisable to have additional coverage for war-related risks.

- Keep an eye on air alerts. Install the Air Alert mobile application (App Store | Google Play) and learn the rules of behaviour during shelling. In case of an alarm, immediately go to the nearest shelter.

- Do not take pictures of military objects. Photographing checkpoints, military equipment, positions of the Armed Forces and other strategic objects is prohibited.

- Be prepared for inspections. During wartime, law enforcement officers may check your documents. Always have them with you.

- Follow the guide's instructions, especially in areas near destroyed objects.

- Respect the memory of the dead - this is not just a tour, but a place where history lives on.
