Ukrainian refugees in Canada can receive assistance of up to 2 thousand dollars: how to apply
The Canadian government will provide additional financial assistance to refugees from Ukraine. Ukrainians will be able to claim up to $2,000. Learn more about how to get funds
Additional cash assistance will be paid to Ukrainians in Canada who live in the province of British Columbia. This is reported on the website of the province. Such monetary support is intended to help Ukrainians who find themselves in a difficult situation.
Two steps to get paid:
1. To come to Canada under the CUAET program - permission for emergency entry to Canada;
2. Fill out a special application.
How to apply?
• Online through the "My self service" portal;
• personally during a visit to the organization;
• by calling 1-866-866-0800 (consultants speak 140 languages).
The following information must be specified in the application:
• E-mail address;
• social insurance number (SIN);
• basic BCeID account information;
• an identity document;
• data on income or assets.
How much money can Ukrainians receive in Canada?
The amount of the payment depends on the number of family members and the presence of persons with disabilities. Refugees from Ukraine can count on the amount of:
• Up to $935 per month for one person;
• up to $1,770 per month for a family of four;
• up to $1,358 per month for a person with a disability;
• up to $2,193 for a family that includes a person with a disability.
Employment for refugees in Canada
Employment is one of the elements of adaptation and an important step towards starting a new life abroad. Ukrainians who moved to Canada because of the war in Ukraine were able to get a CUAET - a Canadian-Ukrainian emergency travel permit, which also allows for official work.
