There are currently more than 160,000 refugees from Ukraine in Great Britain. Such data was recently made public by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Great Britain, Vadym Prystaiko. He also added that 42% of refugees are already employed in the country. Such a large percentage can be explained by the fact that the state grants refugees the right to live and work for three years.

Ukrainians who have received temporary protection in the United Kingdom have access to the labor market, educational and medical services.

Where to look for work?

First, we recommend contacting the Jobcentre Plus departments, which are located in many cities of the country. Employees of the center help refugees with job search, resume writing and additional professional training.

Refugees are also recommended to contact the National Career Service for advice - search for vacancies, assess your own skills and find courses to improve your skills.

You can also search for vacancies and send resumes on special sites:

• Job Aid Ukraine;

 helpukrainians.jooble.org;

• jobs4ukr.com;

• Indeed.co.uk;

• glassdoor.co.uk.

Work in Britain without knowledge of English

There are offers on the labor market that do not require knowledge of the English language. For example, you can work as a photographer's assistant, pick fruits and berries or sort things. Fluency in the language is necessary to get a job offer in an office or service industry.

Peculiarities of life and everyday life in the United Kingdom

For a comfortable life in the country, you need to accept the peculiarities of the citizens' mentality and local traditions. For example, the British care about cleanliness and coziness, so tidiness should be given a lot of attention. It is also customary to apologize even for the smallest trifles. It is better to apologize once more than to appear impolite.
