The sociological company Active Group has found out how much money Ukrainians need to be happy. The respondents told us what amount of money would make them feel comfortable and not deny themselves anything. Read on to find out how much an average Ukrainian needs to live a happy life.

How much money do Ukrainians need to be happy: survey results 

The survey showed that UAH 50,000 per month is the amount an average Ukrainian needs to cover all their needs. In particular, to survive, one person needs UAH 10,399 per month, and UAH 19,282 will be the basis for a confident life.

Detailed statistics

During the survey, respondents shared the amount of money they consider necessary for survival:

- 32.9% of respondents need UAH 5,000 to 9,999;

- From 10,000 to 14,999 - 26.4%;

- From 15,000 to 24,999 - 16.4%;

- From 25,000 to 49,999 - 4.7%;

- From 50,000 - 0.8%.

Sociologists also found out what monthly income would give confidence in one's financial situation:

- The majority of respondents, namely 30.8%, need from 15,000 to 24,999 UAH;

- Up to UAH 2000 for one family member was mentioned by 2.9%;

- From 2,000 to 4,999 UAH was chosen by 4.2% of respondents;

- From 5,000 to 9,999 UAH is considered a sufficient amount for one person by 13.8%;

- From 10,000 to 14,999 UAH satisfy almost all needs of 22.7% of Ukrainians;

- Up to UAH 49,999 for each family member is needed by 18.8%;

- Up to UAH 99,999 was mentioned by 4.7% of Ukrainians;

- UAH 100,000 and more are needed for 2.1% of respondents.

Another question asked the respondents determined how much money they would be able to afford. Here are the results:

- 0.5% of Ukrainians need less than UAH 2000;

- From 2000 to 4999 UAH and from 5,000 to 9,999 UAH, 1.9% and 6% respectively;

- From 25,000 to 49,999 - 29.4%;

- From 50,000 to 99,999 UAH - 21.5%;

- UAH 100,000 and more are needed by 11.4%.

Respondents were also asked to assess the effectiveness of the government in the economic sector. 42.1% said they consider their actions ineffective. A significant part of Ukrainians (38.9%) recognized the government as effective, and 19.1% of respondents found it difficult to answer the question.
