New rules from July 1: Czech Republic creates refugee assistance calculator
An online calculator has been created on the website of the Czech Ministry of Labor to help make an approximate calculation of humanitarian aid to Ukrainian refugees. Here's how to use it
The conditions for receiving financial assistance for Ukrainian refugees in the Czech Republic are changing. The updates will come into force on July 1, 2023. They will also affect the amount of payments that Ukrainians will be able to receive.
From now on, all those in need can use a special calculator to calculate their individual allowance. Persons with temporary protection status in Ukraine will find out what benefits they can receive as soon as the amendments to Lex Ukrajina V, which regulate the provision of assistance and free housing, come into force.
We will tell you how to use the innovations and calculate the amount of future payments in the article.
Financial assistance for Ukrainians in the Czech Republic: formula for calculating the amount of payments
The total amount of comprehensive financial assistance provided in the Czech Republic from July 1 is calculated using the following formula:
Total allowance for all family members + fixed housing costs - income of all family members = difference, which is the amount of the grant.
However, it should be noted that if this difference is zero or less, the family or person is not eligible for financial assistance.

Take care of your safe stay in the Czech Republic
The most important thing to have when traveling is travel insurance. Calling an ambulance, visiting a doctor, or getting tested is often very expensive for foreigners. Therefore, it is always worth taking out an insurance package before you travel.
Insurance guarantees your safety and peaceful stay outside of Ukraine.
We remind you! Citizens of Ukraine who have found refuge in the Czech Republic and are currently planning to leave the country need to resolve all issues. We will tell you what you need to do before leaving here.
