Field hospitals: where to get first aid on the way to the border?

Help our volunteers who support Ukraine and all foreigners in the country 24/7
HELP

Doctors of the world stand side by side with Ukraine in its struggle for independence. An American field hospital was opened in the Lviv region on March 14, and an Israeli field hospital on March 22.

Currently, there are more than 200,000 migrants from other parts of the country in the Lviv region, in addition, an endless stream of people are heading to the border in search of asylum in Europe. Unfortunately, they are mostly deprived of the care of their family doctors, and Western medical institutions can no longer withstand the load. That is why they need the help of foreign specialists more than ever.

American Field Hospital for Internally Displaced Persons

Near Lviv, the international humanitarian organization Samaritan's Bag has set up a mobile hospital for all Ukrainians in need of medical care during the war. American doctors brought everything they needed with them.

Two operating rooms were assembled, there are X-rays, 4 laboratories, modern equipment and the whole range of medicines. The hospital is designed for 60 stationary beds, up to 200 people a day can be examined there. Here you can get emergency, outpatient and inpatient care, surgery, affordable medical services for children and women, there are obstetricians and prenatal specialists. There are about a hundred experienced doctors, some of whom have passed through Iraq. They are joined by volunteer Ukrainian doctors.

Franklin Graham's Samaritan Wallet is an international humanitarian organization of evangelical Christians whose significant efforts are focused on providing medical care in the hottest parts of the world with military conflicts and in areas affected by natural disasters.

Israeli field hospital in Yavoriv region

On the Polish-Ukrainian border, near Mostysk, the Israeli field hospital "Brilliant Star" has opened, offering ambulance and services of specialists in internal medicine, general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, otolaryngology, pediatrics, orthopedics, psychiatry and social psychiatry. The surgeries will be performed by Israeli doctors at the nearest city hospital. The tents even have a duct insulator. There are three wards: for children, women and men.

The hospital staff currently consists of 65 people (paramedics, doctors, managers and logistics) who will work in shifts for weeks, but in the near future it is planned to increase it to almost a hundred specialists. The Israelis will also train Ukrainian colleagues at will, for which they even plan to bring training mannequins. To facilitate communication, Israeli doctors will be constantly assisted by a Ukrainian doctor on duty from a local hospital.

The project was implemented within cooperation of the Ministry of Health of Israel and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine with the assistance of the Schusterman Foundation and Israeli charity organizaton JDC. The hospital has been named the "Shining Star" after Golda Meir, a former Israeli prime minister who lived in Kyiv for some time as a child. It was she who once created the Mashav, the Israeli National Humanitarian Aid Agency.

Both hospitals will be happy to help the Ukrainian military. All services, of course, are free. Institutions plan to work as much as necessary.

We do not report the exact coordinates of hospitals for security reasons - ask in medical institutions of Lviv region, humanitarian centers and local authorities.
