Denmark extends residence permits for refugees, but not all: who lost temporary protection?

The Danish authorities have extended residence permits for Ukrainian refugees for another year. However, some people have lost their asylum in the country. Find out more about which group of people did not have their protection extended and how to renew it
The Danish Immigration Service has extended the validity of residence permits for refugees from Ukraine until March 17, 2025. However, some Ukrainians have not received extensions of their documents. This was reported by nyidanmark.dk.

Danish government extends residence permits for Ukrainians: details
It is noted that the immigration service has checked all permits issued under a special law until November 3, 2023, with a validity period until March 17, 2024. If the conditions were met, the permits were automatically extended until March 17, 2025.
Residence permits issued from November 3, 2023 to March 17, 2024 were also extended until March 17, 2025.

A small number of refugees did not have their permits extended due to the inability to contact them. Their documents expired on March 17, 2024, and they need to submit a new application in accordance with the law.
