Citizens of Ukraine will be able to return to Ukraine from Moldova using internal passports
Table of contents
Due to the growing number of Ukrainian citizens wishing to return home from Moldova, and given the fact that many Ukrainians entered Moldova with domestic passports, the Moldovan Emergency Committee has made some adjustments to our citizens' border crossings. Previously, the simplified conditions applied only to entry into Moldova: citizens of Ukraine could come in with any identity documents, including with internal passports. A foreign passport was required for departure, and citizens without foreign passports could leave only with a special certificate issued by the Embassy of Ukraine.
According to the new rules, from May 4, 2022, citizens of Ukraine will be able to leave Moldova on the basis of the same documents as were presented for the entry into the country (domestic passports, etc.), including documents with expired validity. It is noted that the simplified conditions for crossing the state border can be applied only once and only for the purpose of returning to Ukraine.
