Blackout schedules will become shorter: Ukrainians were told when the situation with electricity will improve
The situation with electricity in Ukraine remains difficult. In some regions, power outages exceed schedule norms. However, Ukrenergo reports that the situation may improve soon. Find out when to expect a reduction in schedules and what the situation in the energy system is like now
The situation with electricity in Ukraine may soon improve, and blackout schedules may be relaxed. We'll tell you when you'll have more electricity in your homes and what power engineers say about the situation in general.
The situation with electricity will improve in July
Yuriy Boyko, a member of the Supervisory Board of NPC Ukrenergo, told Suspilne TV channel that the situation with power supply will improve in a few weeks, as generating units will be repaired.
"For obvious reasons, I can't give you the exact numbers, but after 20 July we plan to repair a number of generating units and, accordingly, this will ease the schedules of power outages. Of course, there will still be a deficit, but it will not be as big," he said.

What is the current situation with electricity?
The energy sector in Ukraine is going through a difficult time, especially at this time when the country is experiencing an abnormal heatwave and people continue to use air conditioners to keep cool.
As Boyko explained, the heat has led to a greater load on the system and significant restrictions.
"We do not import the maximum amount of electricity every day. In recent days, this volume has decreased. However, NPC Ukrenergo is bringing it up to this maximum level by attracting emergency assistance from our neighbours by activating the relevant requests," said Boyko.
It is worth noting that neighbouring countries are also experiencing heatwaves and an increase in the load on the power system. This affects the ability to provide emergency assistance to Ukraine.
It is worth noting that due to massive russian missile attacks on power plants in Ukraine, power outages are again in effect. "Ukrenergo has published a list of official websites with schedules of power outages in the regions of Ukraine.
As you know, the occupying country has struck again at Ukrainian power plants and critical infrastructure facilities. Over the past 3 months, russian shelling has destroyed 9.2 GW of Ukrainian generation.
